Friend

"You've got a best friend?", said POTUS.
"Yes, sir.", said Roger, with a surprised smile on his face.
"Is he smarter than you?"
"Yes, sir."
"Can you trust him with your life?"
The smile has gone, Roger looked at POTUS in earnest. He paused for a moment.
"Yes, sir."

"Than,"said POTUS, "that's you're chief staff."
"Yes, sir.", Roger smiled and answered.

It's a scene from a great TV series, The West Wind.  I am moved by the performance of Martin Sheen, who played the president of the United states every time I watch this scene.
